Monadnock manufactures A through E weight abrasive backing papers for the production of wet and dry flexible coated abrasives.  These papers are polymer-reinforced to enhance drape and "hand."  Smooth, level surfaces allow for the uniform deposit of ultra fine grits.  Both natural and synthetic fibers can be used in manufacturing.  Barrier or "Tie" and Anti-slip surface coatings are available.

These backings are suitable for both circular discs and flat sheet stock abrasives (sandpapers) for the construction, metal, woodworking and automotive markets.

Weight Definitions:

"A" Weight: lightweight and flexible paper - typically for sheet use only or light PSA or hook and loop disc usage (70 gsm).

"B" Weight: slightly heavier (100 gsm) with same purpose and design as "A" weight.

"C" Weight: A medium weight paper (120 gsm) with same purpose and design, a more effective backer for coarser grit grades.

"D" Weight: A medium to heavy weight paper (150 gsm) with same purpose and design - stronger, used on coarser grades (P80 and coarser).

"E" Weight: A heavy weight paper (220 gsm) - strong, tear resistant, and less flexible than "A - D" weights - typically for stroke, wide belt, or other machine sanding applications.
