Monadnock Non-Wovens LLC Receives Grant for Rail Terminal

 

PENDOT, the state Department of Transportation granted  $65,000 to Monadnock Non-Wovens LLC. The money will be used to add a rail terminal at the plant to receive polymer resin via rail cars delivered by the Lackawanna Railroad.
 
"It was a pleasure assisting Monadnock Non-Wovens of Mount Pocono in acquiring a grant for
the creation of a rail terminal.  These dollars will help Monadnock grow their business in Mount
Pocono creating more employment possibilities for our citizens," indicated Mario M. Scavello,
member, 176th Legislative district, Pennsylvania House of Representatives. 
 
May has been a busy month as the Company also received Planning Board approval for its
expansion plans, which will add 10 new production and research jobs in the next six months.
The expansion involves a million dollar investment in a 5,000 sq. ft. building extension and
additional production machinery. 
 
Monadnock Non-Wovens, a subsidiary of Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. of Bennington, NH was
established in 1999 to manufacture non-woven material for the fast growing filtration,
facemask, healthcare and homeland security markets.
