New Wood Fiber-Based Durable Tag Lets Growers and Retailers Replace Plastic

Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. announces the launch of Monadnock EnviTM Durable Tag. Created as a replacement for HDPE, styrene and PLA plastics, this new durable, wood fiber-based substrate is designed for outdoor/weatherproof use in a wide variety of horticultural applications including tag, label, pot wrap and signage.

Envi Durable Tag is Forest Stewardship CouncilTM (FSC®) certified (Co18866 www.fsc.org). The FSC label ensures responsible use of forest resources as certified by the Rainforest AllianceTM.

The new stock is manufactured carbon neutral through the acquisition of Verified Emission Reductions (VERs), and made with 100% renewable electrical energy via Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).

Envi is manufactured under a third-party certified ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and is manufactured process chlorine free. No chlorine or chlorine derivatives are used in the paper manufacturing process.

Designed for outdoor longevity, Envi Durable Tag is weather and fade resistant, dimensionally stable, resists curl and can be printed using offset, digital or thermal print platforms.

Envi has a smooth, bright-white surface engineered for exceptional image fidelity and accurate color reproduction and is priced comparably to the commonly used plastics it was engineered to replace.

Monadnock is a pioneer in the manufacture of durable papers and boards for a broad range of industries and applications. As a technical/specialty papermaker, Monadnock has extensive experience custom engineering reinforced, durable substrates available with value-added printable and/or functional coatings to achieve high levels of durability and printability.

Monadnock's durable papers can be designed for enhanced strength, including high-tear, tensile, fold, elongation and moisture-resistant characteristics. These papers are suitable for converting processes such as die-cutting, multi-level embossing and deep channel scoring.
