Monadnock’s New Swatchbook – All Grades Now All FSC
Monadnock is pleased to announce that its entire line-up of Graphic
Arts Printing and Packaging Papers and Boards is now Forest Stewardship
Council (FSC) Certified.
The papers are highlighted in a new sample book that makes it easy
for brand owners and designers to find environmentally responsible
paper and packaging products from one resource. Now in addition to
being manufactured carbon neutral with 100% renewable electricity,
designers and brand owners can now select papers certified by the most
comprehensive chain-of-custody system for responsible forestry in the
world.
What’s Inside
Products in the new sample book include Monadnock’s FSC fine
printing grades Astrolite®, Astrolite PC 100®, Dulcet® and Caress®; as
well as DuraprinT™, Durascent™ and Envi by Monadnock® packaging papers
and boards.
Astrolite is a brilliant white uncoated paper with superior
formation and surface uniformity for excellent printability. Offered in
smooth, a toothy vellum, and a luxuriously tactile ultra-smooth silk
finish, it has high opacity to minimize show-through and dimensional
stability to assure consistent registration and on-press performance.
One of the cleanest, brightest, and smoothest 100 percent recycled printing papers made, Astrolite PC 100
is made in a smooth finish with a minimum of fibers, flecks and
blemishes. FSC certification assures that 100 percent postconsumer
recycled fiber was used to make this paper.
Dulcet is an elegant neutral white premium paper that is
color-balanced for highly accurate color reproduction, particularly in
flesh tones. Dulcet was designed for excellent printability and meets
ANSI standards for longevity.
Caress is a sophisticated mellow white paper with an exquisite
surface and superior formation. The muted tone of Caress adds richness
and warmth to colors and accentuates sepia tones and lends a humanizing
effect to portraiture.
Brand owners and converters needing a strong yet pliable cover
material that prints beautifully and holds up to the rigors of
demanding folding applications now have Duraprint 7, a 5.4 mil durable cover stock perfect for turned-edge applications.
Durascent scent blotter stocks, created to address the needs of
leading scent developers and brand-owners in the fragrance, personal
care, in-home and ambient air control markets for paper stocks that
retain and impart accurate scent, are specially formulated to enhance
scent absorption, retention, fidelity and “throw.”
The Envi line includes recycled 18 pt. folding boxboard,
recycled shopping bag stock, recycled thermal tag stocks and recycled
label stock for wine labels and similar applications.

SmartWood, a program of the Rainforest Alliance and a third-party
FSC Certification agency, reviewed Monadnock's processes and procedures
and found Monadnock to be compliant with the chain-of-custody standards
for all of Monadnock Printing and Packaging products. FSC Certification
ensures that all fibers used to manufacture Monadnock’s papers and
boards conform to the FSC Certified chain-of-custody standards
established for the responsible management of the world's forests. It
