Monadnock Paper Mills Edge VIII: Quiet Light

Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. is pleased to introduce its new edition of Edge Journal for the Graphic Arts entitled Quiet Light. This edition features the nature photography of Ed Riddell printed on Monadnock Astrolite PC 100, a perfect medium for environmental communications.

Astrolite PC 100 is made of 100% post-consumer material that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The FSC© logo assures that an independent third party has verified Monadnock's material chain of custody and that Astrolite PC 100 is responsibly sourced and made solely from 100% post-consumer waste material.

Quiet Light features a variety of black and white images of the Western United States and Canadian landscapes. Printed in 175-line screen, the images vary significantly in tone and are recreated in half tone, duo-tone, tri-tone and 4-color providing a wide range of depth, contrast and tonal qualities. Riddell's images portray the beauty and variety of nature through intricate photographic techniques. Rock, wood, water, sand, sky and grass are rendered in crisp detail on Monadnock Astrolite PC 100. The cover is 100 lb. cover weight; the text is 100 lb. text weight.

Ed Riddell is a photographer who has worked in and around Jackson Hole Wyoming for many years and is now involved with the Yellowstone Parks Foundation. The designer of Quiet Light is Jeff Pollard, a long time graphic designer for Monadnock Paper Mills among others. Jeff died on February 14, 2005, and Quiet Light is the final piece he created for Monadnock. His many friends at Monadnock will miss his talents and friendship.
